Hi Everyone!

We’re here and are getting settled into our new home, which is beautiful by the way. My parents did a great job picking it out. Thank you to all who have been praying for us. I’m sorry that I don’t have pictures yet, but I hope to very soon!

Going Away Party Part 2 April 7, 2008

Filed under: Family, Friends, Kentucky — grnkidscorner @ 9:18 am

The party went very well on Friday. We came home feeling very blessed by the thoughtfulness of our friends. Thank you everyone who made the party happen, I would name you but I don’t really know who all helped.  Thank you for caring about us and making us feel that we really will be missed. I know that I am speaking for my family, when I say that we will miss you too. May the Lord bless you!

I’ll tell you how it goes tomorrow.

Long, but good April 3, 2008

Today was another long day filled with packing up the office and also folding newsletters. I just got home about a half an hour ago and am just now eating dinner (it’s 7:23pm). Even though I’m tired, I had a wonderful day! It was a lot of fun. I thank the Lord for the progress that is being made to move down to Kentucky.

Spending time with friends March 30, 2008

This has been one of the nicest Sundays that I’ve had in awhile. This morning we visited City Church in Batavia,NY which is pastored by our great friends Pastor Marty & Patti Macdonald. Then afterwards we were invited to the Macdonald’s home for brunch and had a very nice and relaxing time with them and some other people from the church. The Macdonald family is one of the families that I am going to miss the most after we move to Kentucky. I thank the Lord so much for allowing our two families to meet and get connected. Now, of course I’m writing this post, but now I am in my sweats and sitting around with my family. I’m luvin’ it.

Good Morning! March 14, 2008

Filed under: Animals, Family, Kentucky, Sewing, weather — grnkidscorner @ 10:13 am

Good morning friends! I feel so bright and cheerful this morning and I hope you do too.

The snow is finally starting to melt away. Yippee! Hopefully it will stay away now and we’ll get some warmer weather in time for Easter. Oh! Please let it be so :) ! Haha. Well, though it may be hard to believe since I’ve been making  a big deal about the snow and such, I must say that I actually really don’t mind it that much( Sounds like an oxymoron).  I think that I’m even going to miss it when it goes away. When we move back to KY there won’t be anymore white Christmases or snow balls or snow men.  There also won’t be the guarantee that my dog won’t come back into the  house with her paws not dirty :) .  Oh well!

If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen anymore pictures of my apron in progress, it’s because the progress hasn’t been in progress! Ummm…in other words, it hasn’t been worked on since last Sunday.  But to make up for not working on the apron I have been baking more. The other day I made banana bread and cookies (actually the cookies were no-bakes :) ).  The bread is gone already and half of the cookies are gone too! That’s what happens when you have two men in the house I guess.  I think that I’m going to make some more banana bread today or I might try a recipe that I got off of Alli’s blog ( www.sheworkswithherhands.typepad.com )for Oatmeal-banana bars ( we like bananas).

If you’re needing a nice recipe for no-bake cookies, the recipe below is really good. Only if you are crazy about butterscotch and are not allergic to peanut butter though :) !

Peanutbutter & Butterscotch Cookies

-1 12oz. bag of butterscotch morsels

- 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter

- 4 cups corn flakes cereal

Melt butterscotch morsel in a large pan, then add peanut butter and stir until it also is melted. Put heat on very low and add cornflakes. Stir until cereal is nicely coated with the butterscotch/peanut butter. Take off heat. On wax paper spoon out mixture and leave to set. Enjoy! If you have any questions just ask!
