Newest Sewing Project Pictures: Toile Fabric Apron

Here are pictures of my apron as promised! Please feel to once again let me know what you think. I appreciate any help I can get 🙂 .

My trusty “not-so-happy-to-do-this” helper/model, Jeremiah! 🙂

Another Sewing Creation

E1968I made another apron! This one is made with a heavier toile fabric and I love it! Once again, my Singer worked great and I am so happy about that.

This apron is definitely very feminine and it contours so well to the body. I hope to have some pictures posted of it sometime tomorrow!

Next project:  Fabric book cover for my Bible

Overcoming my frustrations with…

…Sewing.  Yes, I FINALLY took my sewing machine to get fixed and now it is working perfectly. Yay!!  Knowing that the machine is now in good working order, it helped me to get back into the sewing mode.  I went to the store and found some really cute fabric and got practicing on an apron again. It’s not perfect by all means, but pretty good. I would definitely get heavier fabric next time and I think that I would add some lace or something for more detail. Practice makes perfect, right?!  Speaking of, my other apron that I was working on a loooong time ago still needs some help 🙂 . I need to look it over again and see where I went wrong with it.

Here are some pictures of the fabric I chose and of the apron I made. Please tell me what you think!

Another Spring Giveaway!

If you’re into sewing, this is a great giveaway. Alli on , is giving away a pin cushion that she made herself! It’s really cute. I highly encourage you to enter under her post. I did! The giveaway ends March 31st at noon.

Here is a picture of Alli and her creation! 🙂

104_3846_6  106_4217_2104_3846_6  Well, I’m not sure how it happened that I got 2 pictures of Alli and wordpress won’t let me delete one and also won’t let me move it to where I want it!

My Sewing Attempt…

Progress on my apron is going slow. Very slow. More like non-existent. My machine is acting up and I don’t know how to fix it. The thread keeps bunching up inside, and I’ve tried playing around with it, but so far nothing has worked. Everything always looks normal until I go to make a stitch. Some suggestions on what may be wrong and how to fix it would be very much appreciated! 🙂

Good Morning!

Good morning friends! I feel so bright and cheerful this morning and I hope you do too.

The snow is finally starting to melt away. Yippee! Hopefully it will stay away now and we’ll get some warmer weather in time for Easter. Oh! Please let it be so 🙂 ! Haha. Well, though it may be hard to believe since I’ve been making  a big deal about the snow and such, I must say that I actually really don’t mind it that much( Sounds like an oxymoron).  I think that I’m even going to miss it when it goes away. When we move back to KY there won’t be anymore white Christmases or snow balls or snow men.  There also won’t be the guarantee that my dog won’t come back into the  house with her paws not dirty 🙂 .  Oh well!

If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen anymore pictures of my apron in progress, it’s because the progress hasn’t been in progress! Ummm…in other words, it hasn’t been worked on since last Sunday.  But to make up for not working on the apron I have been baking more. The other day I made banana bread and cookies (actually the cookies were no-bakes 🙂 ).  The bread is gone already and half of the cookies are gone too! That’s what happens when you have two men in the house I guess.  I think that I’m going to make some more banana bread today or I might try a recipe that I got off of Alli’s blog ( )for Oatmeal-banana bars ( we like bananas).

If you’re needing a nice recipe for no-bake cookies, the recipe below is really good. Only if you are crazy about butterscotch and are not allergic to peanut butter though 🙂 !

Peanutbutter & Butterscotch Cookies

-1 12oz. bag of butterscotch morsels

– 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter

– 4 cups corn flakes cereal

Melt butterscotch morsel in a large pan, then add peanut butter and stir until it also is melted. Put heat on very low and add cornflakes. Stir until cereal is nicely coated with the butterscotch/peanut butter. Take off heat. On wax paper spoon out mixture and leave to set. Enjoy! If you have any questions just ask!
